Project Description

Located in a quiet residential neighborhood of Athens, this compact corner building is designed to offer a balance between privacy, openness, and urban comfort. The structure consists of a slightly elevated ground floor, a single upper level, and a discreet attic, where the sloped roof is volumetrically absorbed within the overall form to maintain a clean and modern silhouette.

As a corner intervention, the building negotiates two distinct urban conditions. The northern facade is more introverted and opaque, accommodating the vertical circulation and shielding the interior from the cooler orientation. In contrast, the western side opens generously to the street, articulated with deep balconies that extend the domestic interior into the exterior realm, filtering light and views.

The internal layout is organized around a core positioned to the north, creating a thermal buffer and minimizing the apartments’ direct exposure to colder orientations. This thoughtful approach enhances energy performance and user comfort year-round.

At the top, a carefully designed rooftop garden offers a green retreat with an outdoor space dedicated to the attic, creating a private, elevated oasis in the city.
